This Dark Grey Plain Pure Wool Men’s Shawl, traditionally known as Lohi, Loi, Loe, Dushala, or Chadar, is a refined winter essential from the Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh.
Woven using plain (mill-spun) pure wool yarn, this shawl offers a uniform texture, clean look, and dependable warmth. The yarn is then handloom woven by experienced Kullu weavers, producing a shawl that is thick, heavy, and highly insulating, suitable for long winters and cold climates.
The dark grey color gives this shawl a strong, dignified appearance. It is less prone to visible stains, easy to pair with most winter outfits, and ideal for daily wear. Because of its weight and calming tone, it is also widely used as a meditation shawl or prayer shawl, where warmth and simplicity are preferred.
Its oversized dimensions allow generous draping over the shoulders or full body wrap, making it comfortable for sitting, travel, or extended outdoor use.
This shawl is known by multiple names across the Himalayas and North India:
Despite the names, the purpose remains the same: warmth, comfort, and simplicity.
